Got a novel manuscript stuck in a drawer? A short story in need of a fresh set of eyes? A query letter not getting agent attention? As an award-winning author with decades of writing and publication experience, I've hit all these roadblocks and more. They're frustrating, but you can overcome them with the right help. That's where I come in.

I work with manuscripts of all lengths and genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and everything in between. I can tailor my editing to any level, whether it's a full developmental edit to root out central story problems, a line edit to make your writing sing, or a final copyedit to get rid of pesky typos. I also review query materials for traditional publishing (don't know what that means? I can help with that, too).

I like to start with a brief introductory meeting to talk through your project and get a sense of your needs, possibly reading a sample of your work, or offering a short, paid "test edit." Once we agree on a rate and time frame for the project, we can begin. I will use in-manuscript notes to identify issues with structure, plot, character, style, and other topline concerns, and write up a general edit letter summarizing my recommendations.
Beginners are especially welcome! I may be experienced, but I've never forgotten how intimidating the world of writing and publishing can be when you're starting out. I'm here to be your patient and encouraging guide.
